Surgery:
In surgery, the surgeon removes the area of tissue where the cancerous tumor is located, as well as margins of healthy tissue surrounding it.
Types of surgery:
- Excision (cut) in the shape of a triangle in order to remove the part that contains the cancerous tissue.
- Resection (cutting) of the affected lung lobe to remove cancerous tissue.
