1 (1-lb.) log Pillsbury sugar cookie dough
Various nonpareils in holiday colors, for decorating
1 (9-oz.) box Pillsbury Shape cookie dough
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°. Unwrap log of sugar cookie dough. Slice log into 16 (1/2"-thick) pieces (27 g. each). Gently roll slices into balls. Using the palm of your hand, flatten to disks about 1/2" thick.
Step 2
Divide nonpareils by color among plates; you’ll need about 1/4 c. (2 oz.) of each color. (We used red, green, and white.) Roll dough in nonpareils until coated. Transfer to 2 parchment-lined baking sheets.
Step 3
Bake cookies until they begin to spread, about 2 minutes.
Step 4
Meanwhile, open package of Pillsbury Shape cookie dough and break apart. Stack one Pillsbury Shape on top each sugar cookie.
Step 5
Continue to bake until edges of cookies are golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes more.
Step 6
Make Ahead: Cookies can be made 2 days ahead. Store in an airtight container at room temperature
