Date balls ingredients
2 cups walnuts, or other nuts
1 cup unsweetened grated coconut
2 cups of soft, ground, pitted dates
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
A pinch of nutmeg
How to prepare date balls
Place walnuts and coconut in a blender until crumbly.
Add the dates, vanilla, salt and nutmeg and mix again until a sticky, homogeneous dough is formed. You can add a tablespoon of coconut oil, only if necessary. Try not to mix too much, or the mixture will become oily, so mix until the mixture is crumbly and has a sticky consistency when pressed between your fingers.
Spread the dough with a large spoon, then roll it between your hands to form balls.
Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then place in the refrigerator or freezer for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Store the balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or in the freezer for longer.
